State Review of
Local Comprehensive Plans

In accordance with Rhode Island General Laws, Chapter 45-22.2, the Statewide Planning Program coordinates a review of all municipally-adopted comprehensive plans, amendments, and updates thereto for consistency with the State Guide Plan and other criteria specified in the Act.   This webpage provides public notice of the opportunity to provide comment on municipally-adopted comprehensive plan documents undergoing state review, and links to electronic versions of the applicable plan documents, where provided by the municipality.

    PUBLIC NOTICE    INVITATION OF COMMENTS

Pursuant to Section 45-22.2-9(C)(2) of the General Laws of Rhode Island, the Director of the Department of Administration hereby gives public notice of the invitation of comments from regional and state agencies, contiguous communities, and other interested parties regarding the local comprehensive plan document(s) listed below.  The Director will consider comments pertaining to the consistency of the plan document(s) with the goals, findings and intent as established by this Act; with the State Guide Plan; and with the standards for the preparation of comprehensive plans (Handbook No. 16, as amended).

Copies of the local comprehensive plan document(s) on which comments are being entertained can be reviewed at their respective city or town hall, and, if electronic copies are available, via the links provided below on this webpage.

The comment period for each comprehensive plan document shall extend for thirty days from its posted date as listed below.  All comments should reference the document title and identifier number, and should be submitted to: Paul Gonsalves, Senior Planner, One Capitol Hill, Prov. RI  02908
