FFY 2018-2027 State
Transportation Improvement Program (STIP)

The draft FFY 2018-2027 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a ten-year program which includes transportation projects that are eligible to receive federal funding. The STIP must be updated at a minimum of every (4) years and the first four years (FFY 2018-FFY 2021) must be fiscally constrained. This STIP update included a full solicitation of new projects from Rhode Island state agencies, municipalities, organizations, and individuals. These projects were reviewed by committees comprised of staff from various state agencies, the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, and representatives from the State Planning Council’s Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC). Recommendations were incorporated into the full Draft FFY 2018-2027 STIP.

A complete description of the STIP development process is outlined in the Draft FFY 2018-2027 STIP. This includes information on project selection process, funding resources, program descriptions, and analysis of the STIP including analysis of investment areas, fiscal constraint, equity benefits, and climate change. The 30-day public comment period for this document started on October 12, 2017 and closes on November 11, 2017. All comments on the draft FFY 2018-2027 STIP must be received by the close of the public comment period on November 11, 2017.
